Carving a Wooden Bowl

Zan was testing out her new camera (a Panasonic Lumix GH2), and I was working on a rather wonderful piece of ash. Here’s the little film she made:

I am sure you are highly talented. However, your final comments let this video down badly. Intellectual snobbery and narrow mindedness abound in your final statements. Look around you, the world is not just divided into those who watch television and play computer games and artistic ‘makers’! It is full of interesting engineers and industrial talent who combined with the workers in industry make your tools, build the infrastructure you use and make the bare necessities of life. They probably watch interesting TV and play video games too. It does not make them lesser people. This is so typical an attitude of artisans who believe they are from the elite classes both in background and artistic intellect. I am sure your ideals are worthy. I am also sure you probably live a life of inverted snobbery. Maybe a more egalitarian attitude would hamper your lovely work – however, something to consider.
